WHY DO I STILL HAVE THYROID SYMPTOMS WHEN MY LAB TESTS ARE NORMAL?
Kapitler:
- Foreword, by Aristo Vojdani, PhD, MSc, MT: Dr. Vojdani, one of the country's most esteemed immunologists, writes the foreword.
--- - Introduction: Why millions of Americans with hypothyroidism are either going undiagnosed or are not getting relief with treatment, and why.
--- - Chapter One: Getting Acquainted With The Thyroid — Learn the basics of thyroid function and how it affects virtually every other aspect of health.
--- - Chapter Two: The Scoop on Hashimoto's Disease — Treated as a mystery by most doctors, learn what Hashimoto's is, what the symptoms are, and what triggers it.
--- - Chapter Three: Hashimoto's Disease is an Immune Disease — Why Hashimoto's is an immune disease, not a thyroid disease, and what to do about it.
--- - Chapter Four: The Six Patterns of Low Thyroid Function — The six patterns of low thyroid function can be identified on a blood test, and only one of them can be helped by thyroid hormones, if at all.
--- - Chapter Five: Taming the Blood Sugar Beast — The intimate connection between blood sugar handling and thyroid health, why it affects nearly every American, and what to do about it.
--- - Chapter Six: The Digestion Connection — A healthy gut is key to a healthy thyroid. Learn the most common pitfalls to gut health and what to do about them.
--- - Chapter Seven: The Beleaguered Adrenals — Your thyroid health is dependent upon your adrenal health in more ways than one.
--- - Chapter Eight: How Those Hormone Pills and Potions Rob You of Thyroid Health — Think thyroid hormones are the best option? Think again.
--- - Chapter Nine: Don't Forget About the Brain — Sometimes the root of poor thyroid health is in the brain. Plus, how hypothyroidism damages the brain.
--- - Chapter Ten: The 22 Patterns of Thyroid Dysfunction — In Chapter Four I introduce you to six patterns of low thyroid function. I have actually identified 22, only one of which can be helped by thyroid hormones, if even then.
Six patterns of low thyroid and how to find them: primær hypotyreose, sekundær hypotyreose til hypofyse-hypofunksjon, Thyroid underfunksjon (under-conversion), thyroid overfunskjon og økt TBG, Thyroid binding Globulin økning, Thyroid motstand (resistance).
The 22 patterns of low thyroid function (her gir jeg opp å oversette, jeg er ikke medisiner, beklager til dere som faller av jeg henger så vidt med selv):
- Hypothalamus paraventricular defect relates to central nervous system deficiency of serotonin, leading to low TSH.
--- - Hypothalamus paraventricular defect relates to central nervous system deficiency of dopamine, leading to low TSH.
--- - Hypothalamus paraventricular defect promoted by cytokines, leading to low TSH.
--- - Hypothalamus paraventricular defect promoted by elevated prolactin.
--- - Pituitary suppression from cortisol leading to low TSH.
--- - Thyroid tissue disorder related to thyroid peroxidase (TPO) autoimmune response.
--- - Thyroid tissue disorder related to thyroglobulin (TGB).
--- - Down-regulated TPO activity related to progesterone deficiency.
--- - Down-regulated TPO from deficiency of cofactors.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from deficiency of cofactors.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase from gastrointestinal dysbiosis and lipopolysaccharides.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from elevated cytokines.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from elevated cortisol.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from peripheral deficiencies of serotonin.
--- - Down-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from peripheral deficiencies of dopamine.
--- - Up-regulated 5`deiodinase activity from elevated testosterone.
--- - Elevations of thyroid-binding globulin (TGB) leading to decreased production of thyroid hormones.
--- - Depression of thyroid-binding globulin (TGB) leading to increased production of thyroid hormones and resistance.
--- - Thyroid resistance promoted by an elevation of cytokines.
--- - Thyroid resistance promoted by elevations of cortisol.
--- - Thyroid resistance promoted by deficiences of vitamin A.
--- - Thyroid resistance promoted by homocysteine
