Subject: hypothyrodism

Hello. I am from the United States (Illinois to be exact) and my husband (41 years old) was told two weeks ago that he had hypothyrodism. His count(?) was 75. His doctor put him on synthroid and he still felt so bad today that he had to go back to his doctor for another check-up. We don't understand this condition and are looking for someone to answer our questions. His doctor is wonderful.

But when Mike goes in without me he dosen't ask the questions he should. Mind you I would go with him (and I will on his next visit) but I work full time and it has only been 2 weeks. He is soooo tired, his muscles cramp, they feel tight, his voice sounds rough.

Do we need to give the meds longer to work? I am so scared. He is never sick and this is just more than we can handel. I need to have someone tell me their story. It is hard for me to see him this way and if someone could shed some light on this, it would be greatly welcomed.
