Masse postinger på thyroid.about.com forumet fremdeles. Stor sak.

Her er en av dem i tråden hvor det er snakk om at Oprah er hyper (hun sa jo så, og at hun går opp i vekt som hyper. Ved hyperthyreose kan det å stresse ned og drikke soyamelk hjelpe litt...)

"Yes, I did watch it but didn't catch any exact naming of the thyroid disease just her saying she blew out her thyroid. What a term to use.

I don't think she understands what she's dealing with and she seems to dote on that Dr N. and she's all new age although what she's talking isn't new age, we just think it is.

Her er en som så nøye på programmet, og hadde kjøpt Christianne Northrups bok noen år siden:
"I saw mention of this on Entertainment Tonight, and luckily had TiVo'd the episode because I wanted to see Dr. Christiane Northrup. It was actually an interesting episode. I had bought Dr. Northrup's "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" about 10 years ago but at 700+ pages, never got through the whole thing. However, I am a believer in her mind-body-spirit philosophy. Contrary to Mary Shomon's article at http://thyroid.about.com/ today, I think what Dr. Northrup said made a lot of sense. I've been doing a ton of reading (am reading 5 books) the last couple of weeks on thryoid and adrenal fatigue. Although I was disappointed she didn't come right out and say the first guest had a thryoid problem (she listed several symptoms that I've had recently, and they all sounded like thryoid to me), the information she presented about hormones and how to take care of yourself made sense. There were several women over the course of the show who were all overweight and suffered from problems that sounded like thryoid disease. They all led busy lives, as we all do, and none of them ate breakfast. So it was good advice that everyone should eat breakfast. I don't want to make this post any longer but you can read more about the episode here, http://www2.oprah.com/health/yourbody/s ... _101.jhtml.

Oprah never mentioned whether she was hyper or hypo -- all she said was that she "blew out" her thyroid, which we all agree makes it sound like she has no idea what she's talking about. How she was able to recover in so short a time, I don't understand. I really wish she'd do an in-depth show about thyroid disease with real information women can use. She should have Mary Shomon and Dr. Richard Shames and Karilee Shames as guests.

"Hi Yes, I saw that on E news show last night too. They said she had hyperthyroid , she said she couldn't sleep, had anxiety, and she said most people lose weight but she didn't, then she said she went hypo , and she wanted to sleep all the time, had no energy and gained 20 pounds..... They did not say how she was being treated. I was thinking maybe she had Graves, from the way it was described..... It wasn't too specific, just a short piece on it..... "

" stopped watching Oprah back when Dr. Phil used to be on her show...I subsequently have refused to ever watch Dr. Phil even though my parents seem to like him for some warped reason, and will call to tell me to turn on the show...to which I politely thank them, and go about what I was doing before they called. It was the episode with Dr. Phil telling the woman she wasn't fat because of her thyroid that did it for me, and I also just can't stand the guy. "
(det har vært mange postinger før om dr. Phil, at han flere ganger har sagt at men ikke blir overvektig av hypothyreose, og at man lider at fork-in-mouth diesase...
