Et dejligt menneske, en norsk kvinde har en multiknudestruma, hvor i en af knuderne blev fundet nogle forandrede celler og der er derfor allerede aftalt en "diagnostisk operation". Den halvdel af skjoldbruskkirtlen hvor den "mistænkelig" knude befinder sig, skal fjernes og det stopper ikke her, når man er - som jeg - klar over, hvor primitive vores skandinaviske diagnose- og behandlingsmetoder er. Det kan meget vel blive begyndelsen på en vandring mod lavt stofskifte, og hvad det kan medføre for et modent menneskeliv, kan ændre det for altid, ofte negativt og håbløst, hvis man efterfølgende ikke ved hvordan man kan hjælpe sig selv, tilbage til et godt helbred igen, selv uden en skjoldbruskkirtel. Heldigvis kan man lære af Stephanie Buist, (skjoldbruskkirtel)kræft patient, hvis egen læreprocess over ti år har ført hende tilbage til godt helbred, selv uden sin skjoldbruskkirtel

Jeg har derfor besluttet at gøre noget mere ud af information om Stephanie Buits's gammel blog, hvor hun skrev om sin vej fra behandlings-induceret hypo-helvedet i kølvandet på diagnosen multiknude-kræft med spredning til lymfeknuder, to operationer og flere omgange af behandling med radiojod - til alligevel et perfekt helbred. Som hun selv skriver, hun kan takke Armour Thyroid og jod for alt, men hendes vej tilbage til livet var ikke ukompliceret siden hun blev diagnostiseret i marts 1999. Det skrev hun om på sin blog i perioden mellem d. 1. marts 2007 og d. 4. juni 2010.

Det er ikke særlig nemt at følge et forløb fra start til slut på en blog. Blog-systemmer fungerer omvendt - de starter med det sidste og man skal finde tilbage til begyndelsen og efterfølgende bladre frem i lige så en "ulogisk" retning (nedefra og opefter) for at kunne følge en blog-fortælling fra starten. For at det skal være lettere for andre at finde rundt i Stephanies fortælling, vil jeg simpelthen oprette en kronologisk liste med direkte links til hendes mange indlæg, startende med begyndelsen. Håber, det kan hjælpe.

"It is a very strange feeling to be writing this post. It will be the last update that I post to this blog. The blog itself will remain up for those who want to read it and find encouragement. I have reached the 10 year post diagnosis and 5 years past my last treatment and I am doing very well. My labs are completely balanced and cancer markers normal. Best of all I feel well.

It's time for me to begin the new chapter in my life. I have started a new blog that will align itself with my future career. In the next 1-2 years I will be graduating with my Naturopathic Doctorate. This is my passion. How do I teach others to heal and avoid the poor health I had to dig myself out of. There are so many ideas that swirl around in my head as I read and read and read. I needed a place to share them and this blog wasn't the place. So if you want to come and visit me at my new *home*. This site is dedicated to providing information about thyroid conditions and the natural alternatives available for improving them. The main focus is on thyroid cancer and hypothyroidism because this is what has effected my family. I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in 2000 and both my children are hypothyroid.

I have gathered information that was not shared with me by my family doctor or endocrinologist. It took me years of searching to find it. Most thyroid patients discover it after it is too late and permanent damage has been done.

Hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer are increasing at an alarming rate. Even though thyroid cancer comprises 1.5% of all cancers being diagnosed the rate has doubled over the last 30 years. There are many reasons for this from genetics to toxins to diet. Each plays a critical role. Yet little is being done to educate patients of holistic non-invasive alternatives for healing. Many are suffering as a result.

It is criminal and in the age of information this should not be happening. You do have choices! Your only option is not cut, poison and burn.

If you have already removed your thyroid and even gone through radioactive iodine. Never fear. There is help for you as well. That is my story. I learned too late that there were other options. My goal is to share what I have learned to stop the suffering.

There is a better way. Naturally..... I am now 6 years past the day when I walked away from the endocrinologist who told me I would die withouth having external beam radiation (strålebehandling/red.). I am thriving and cancer free. Without radiation. I used the natural health methods listed here. I am glad I did!
