F.eks.:
Desiccated (dried, sometimes misspelled as dessicated) thyroid is thyroid hormone derived from pigs' thyroids, usually in pill form. It contains both of the main thyroid hormones T4 and T3, and probably the lesser-known hormones T2 and T1. (T2 and T1 aren't measured in desiccated thyroid, but they were in the pigs' thyroids, and they aren't removed.) Its use began in the late 1800s and has continued to the present.
Where desiccated thyroid is
The best-known brand name is Armour, which is sold in the US and imported in some other countries. In Canada, desiccated thyroid known simply as Thyroid is made by Pfizer Canada (formerly Parke-Davis). (See Medication Availability in Canada for details concerning the transfer of Thyroid from Pfizer to Erfa.) Most pharmacies in both the US and Canada carry desiccated thyroid medication.

In the UK, only a few pharmacies carry Armour, but other desiccated thyroid products are more widely available. A thread with information about the availability of desiccated thyroid in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, and Norway is online here. In addition, Nature-throid, a hypoallergenic brand of desiccated thyroid, is available in Europe as well as in the US. Details are in the January 2002 news release American-Made Nature-Throidâ„¢ Approved for Prescription in England and Throughout Europe. Another lesser-known brand name is Westhroid.

Tji-hi. Verden er jammen meg ikke stor. Nå er ringen sluttet, men dette hjelper oss jo ikke (selv om det var litt morsomt da ;) )

Litt ved siden av tema, men en slik skulle vi hatt i Norge:

THYROID TOP DOCTORS DIRECTORY

The following listing includes recommended doctors and practitioners for your thyroid care. Please note that being listed here in the Thyroid Top Doctors Directory doesn't necessarily mean a doctor is the right one for you. The doctor may be an empathetic and warm physician, but not open to working with drugs like Armour or T3 drugs. The doctor may be brilliant and innovative, but have a terrible bedside manner. Or the doctor may be quite costly and not on insurance programs. Always call the doctor's office ahead of time to find out more about the doctor's philosophy, approach, costs, and other important factors before going in for your first appointment. Please let me know if you have feedback -- positive or negative -- about doctors listed here, or would like to recommend your "top" doctor.

Thanks! -- Mary

Her kommer noe jeg har lurt veldig på:

Armour thyroid is a brand of natural desiccated thyroid extract made by Forest Laboratories in the United States.

Natural desiccated thyroid tablets are made from raw pork thyroid glands collected at slaughterhouses, which are tested for absence of Salmonella and E. Coli
