Sv: Hormone Harmony
In English: If one believe that this book will give one some tools to improve its hormonal balance on your own, think again. This book provides just enough for the reader to recognize and possible identify certain hormonal problems, one have not been aware of before. But not enough to take reasonable attempt to improve its hormonal balance, without medical assistance (lifestyle, diet, etc.).
It is my impression now that this book has a hidden agenda, to attract "customers" to the medical segment, Alicia Stanton is a part of, and I now doubt dr. Stanton's expertise, because it seems that dr. Stanton carefully and consistently avoid the involvement of fluoride in her review of endocrine disruptors in our everyday lives.
Dr. Stanton seems to avoid the involvement of fluoride in her review of endocrine disruptors in our everyday lives.
Not to deal with the world's probably most widespread, and the world's propably strongest thyroid suppressant: fluoride, fluoride in tap water, fluoride pesticides, fluoride in food, fluoride in dental hygiene, fluoride in dental care, fluoride in clothing, fluoride in drugs for the treatment of hyperthyroidism, fluoride everywhere ... leads me to doubt dr. Stanton's expertise, because long term avoidance of fluoride in everyday life would improve hormonal balance in everyone, even without medical consultation.
For that matter, not only fluoride, but the whole group of "halogens" deserves special attention precisely because "the halogens", including fluoride as the most biologically active "halogen" - deserve their own, careful examination with a view on "halogens" devastating effect on the thyroid. But the nearest (and only) halogen-related dr. Stanton mentions in her book is chlorine-free household cleaners.
About iodine writes Dr. Stanton only that it is necessary for proper thyroid function and that one can ensure an adequate intake of iodine by using iodized table salt. It's really too cheap!
Dr. Stanton writes nothing about that fluoride replaces iodine in the thyroid hormones, reducing the effect og thyroid hormones, which means in the long term: hypothyroidism. Dr. Stanton also seems not to be aware that iodized salt has only a limited shelf life, and after a few months on the shelves in the store or on the kitchen table at home, most of the iodine will be gone. Dr. Stanton writes nothing about other methods to prevent iodine deficiency.
Thyroid hormones are the hormones involved in all body cells, including brain cells. Without proper levels of thyroid hormones will cerebellum shrink and people will develop debilitating ataxia. Without proper levels of thyroid hormones, also the effect of all other hormones will be disturbed. Thyroid hormones make us the people we are, because thyroid hormones are generally controlling hormones throughout the body and the mind.
When dr. Stanton in her book, written with the aim to treat or prevent endocrine disruption - not with a single word mentions fluoride - then disappears my confidence in Dr. Stanton and I can no longer recommend her book to anyone who really wants to help themselves.Sist endret av Mod; 18-01-13 kl 18:54
