Sitat:
Sometimes when you are hypothyroid you may experience what seem to be hyperthyroid symptoms and attribute this to too much medication but this is not necessarily the case. Palpitations, diarrhoea, nervousness, waking in the night sweating with a fast pulse and hunger can be adrenal related and caused by hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar); this causes an adrenaline rush hence the fast pulse & all the other symptoms. This is very common when hypothyroid & is usually caused by your adrenals not being 100%, typically happening when you have been hypothyroid for some time before diagnosis and/or have overdone things and become over-tired. It commonly happens when starting or increasing thyroid medication as these are adrenal stressors. If you have similar symptoms make sure that you eat little & often & the right foods. If you find that you wake up during the night with hypoglycaemic symptoms try having something to eat just before you go to bed as this will help you to sleep better. Keep a snack handy to have through the night if needed – if you do wake this will help you to get back to sleep more quickly and help you to sleep longer too.
