This is just a short message to inform you all that on 27 December, our very dear Dr Barry Peatfield was rushed into Hospital where emergency surgery was performed. He had diagnosed himself apparently with a colon abscess, and this was confirmed by the doctors at the hosptial. He has been put on very high doses of antibiotics which I sincerely hope do the trick. After the operation, he said he was feeling about 6 out of 10 - which is good, considering how bad he had been feeling before the operation.
Therefore, if you are waiting to hear from him, he will not be available as he is going to need some time to recover. Lyn will leave updates on his progress on his clinic telephone number. Both Lyn and Jo will be back in the office from 5 January 2014. He has been very poorly these past few days in a great deal of quite severe pain and very, very sick.
As soon as I know more I will let you know.
If you wish to send Dr Peatfield a get well card or send him your greetings, his hospital address is:
Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield
Woodland Ward,
East Surrey Hospital
Canada Ave
Redhill
Surrey
RH1 5RH
We are very sorry if this affects you and your treatment regime for the time being, but if it does and you need help, then please write on the forum if you have any concerns regarding your test results and/or treatment and we will do what we can to help you.
As I am already inundated with phone calls and emails from both Dr Peatfield's and the
late Dr Skinner's patients, please do try to keep these at a minimum and only contact me privately if you have real concerns that cannot be dealt with elsewhere.
